Cookie policy.
What we store on your device, what each category is for, and how to change your mind whenever you like.
What cookies are
Cookies are small files placed on your device when you visit a website. Similar technologies — local storage, pixels and tags — do much the same job, and this policy covers all of them. Some are set by us, some by the providers that run payment, delivery or measurement for the shop.
Your choice comes first
Only strictly necessary cookies are set when you arrive. Everything else waits for your decision in the cookie banner. Accepting is optional, refusing costs you nothing, and you can change your choice at any moment — from the banner, from the “Manage cookies” link in the footer, or here:
Your decision itself is remembered in a cookie (amboras_consent) for up to twelve months, so we do not ask again on every page.
The categories we use
- Strictly necessaryNo consent needed
- Keep your shopping bag, your session, your sign-in and the checkout working, and protect the site against fraud and abuse. The shop cannot function without them, so they cannot be switched off.
- PreferencesConsent required
- Remember choices you make — such as your region or display settings — so you do not have to set them again on your next visit.
- AnalyticsConsent required
- Tell us, in aggregate, which pages and pieces are viewed, where visits come from and where shoppers run into trouble, so we can improve the shop. Never used to identify you personally.
- Marketing and measurementConsent required
- Let us measure whether an advert or a campaign led to a visit or an order, and show relevant advertising on other platforms. Only ever set after you accept them.
How long they last
Session cookies disappear when you close your browser. Persistent cookies — the consent record, preferences and analytics identifiers — last between a few days and twelve months, and are refreshed while you keep using the shop. Nothing is kept longer than it is useful for.
Third parties
Our payment provider sets its own cookies at checkout to process payment securely and to prevent fraud; these are strictly necessary. Analytics and advertising providers set theirs only after you accept the matching category, and each uses the data under its own privacy policy. We do not sell the data these cookies generate.
Where these providers process data outside the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area, the transfer is covered by appropriate safeguards — see our privacy policy.
Controlling cookies in your browser
Every major browser lets you see the cookies stored, delete them, and block them entirely — usually under Settings, Privacy. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will stop the bag and checkout from working. Deleting cookies also deletes your consent record, so the banner will ask you again on your next visit.
Changes and questions
When the tools we use change, we update this page and the date above. Any question about cookies or your data: write to [email protected] or use our contact page.
